One of the most effective ways to reduce the number of wrinkles on your face is to decrease the amount of stress in your life. Physical stress can affect your mind and mental stress can affect your body, especially the skin.
Stress causes many of the normal body functions to become less efficient. When people are under stress their bodies quit absorbing nutrients and delivering those necessary nutrients to the body’s organs - including the skin.
Stress causes us to frown and to draw our brows together. We wrinkle our foreheads and all of these negative facial expressions cause face muscles to contract and relax. Repeated contraction of face muscles is one of the causes of wrinkles forming.

The most important skin care regime that you can practice is daily use of a sun block product that has an SPF factor (Sun Protection Factor) of 15 or higher. This sun block should be applied in the morning and it should be reapplied throughout the day - according to the product directions.
Another skin care product that you need to use is a good pair of sunglasses. Choose the kind that block UV rays and that wrap around the corner of your eyes.
Skin care for the prevention of wrinkles also includes not smoking and not drinking alcoholic beverages. Drink a lot of water. Staying well hydrated helps to prevent premature wrinkling.
Don’t go to tanning salons. The rays emitted by the lamps in these salons are the same as those of natural sunlight - and they can damage your skin and cause wrinkles.
Use skin moisturizing creams. You can even make your own moisturizers from products that you already have in your kitchen.

The skin is made up of three layers - the epidermis, or the outer layer, the dermis (that’s the middle layer) and the subcutaneous, or the inner layer.
Young skin is not wrinkled because it holds moisture well and has a high level of elasticity. The middle layer of the skin, contains fibers, elastin as well as a protein called collagen. As individuals age, their dermis loses both collagen and elastin. The skin gets thinner and drier because it is much harder for the dermis to get moisture. Also, people lose the fat in subcutaneous layer and this causes the skin to begin to sag.
People don’t get wrinkles at a certain age. There are people in their twenties who have wrinkles around their eyes called crows feet. On the other hand, there are people in their 60s that have very few wrinkles.
